Exclusivity can be a great solution for your client and for you – but not always. Once you get used to selling exclusivity, don’t make the mistake of always selling it. There are some jobs which just are not right for exclusivity. This can be because it would not suit the client or it could be that it is not right for you. So be selective, understand the context behind the hire thoroughly and then sell exclusivity against the client needs and when you are happy to do so.
