The job brief is a 'sales tool'

Don’t just think of the Job Brief as an information gathering exercise. It is also a great opportunity for you to ‘sell’ yourself to the Client. Think about it – the way you engage, interact, show knowledge and even challenge your Client when taking the Job Brief will be instrumental in how confident they feel about your ability to deliver. Think carefully about the questions that you ask – even the subtlety of your rhetoric and indeed your tone of voice. Your Client will be picking all of this up at a subconscious and emotional level, so make sure you are communicating the messages that you want to.
